Oral work–
Use the picture on page 108 second activity book and discuss what the children are doing ,where they are, what they have and don’t have etc
Art and Craft
Use finger paints and dip your child’s thumb into the paint. Use the thumb prints to design a pattern/ picture
Discuss the need to wash hands after this exercise.
Physical Education
Home and Away
Ask your child to sit  on a large square mat. The child runs around in the space until the parent calls “home” and then your child needs to move back to his/ her place without running into anything. (You may place obstacles in the space to make the activity harder)
Balance
Cut out large pieces of paper in shapes e.g triangles, circles Place these along the floor triangles to the left and circles to the right.
Your child has to cross the room placing his/ her left foot on triangles and right foot on circles alternately
Maths
Number review 1-30
Practice reciting the numbers as you pace around the room/ yard etc
Have the numbers written on individual pieces of paper and ask your child to sequence them in order. Group in tens.
Properties of shapes (tessellation)
Revise tessellation use My second activity book page 97 and 98
Ordinal numbers
Discuss who is leaving the house first, second, third etc in the morning
Environmental Science
Use page 45 and 46 and 47 of ABC of science to discuss  good habits and cleanliness with your child
Story and rhyme
This is the way we wash our hands,

On a cold and frosty morning

Make up other verses e.g. this is the way we brush our hair, this is the way we hop and jump, this is the way we love our mum etc


Parent can retell a story about themselves  from their childhood. Parent may ask the child’s grandparent to retell a story from their youth.
