Having decided at a young age I wanted to be a teacher, I did some voluntary work in a local Special School. I went on to train* as an Infant and Special Needs teacher working for eight years in the UK in both mainstream and special schools.
My first overseas teaching experience was at the International School in Seychelles where I taught for three years from 1989 to 1991. Here I was responsible for the Early Years programme and also worked on the Language Curriculum Development Group for Early years.
